What can I expect the first time I visit?
The members of Sovereign Grace are very friendly and welcoming. Our congregation is made up of people from all walks of life and people of all ages. We would invite and encourage all visitors to share in our fellowship time between worship and Sunday school. Light refreshments are served to enhance our fellowship. Pastor Bartlett or any of the elders would be pleased to talk with you if you have questions.
What are worship services like?
Our morning worship begins at 9:30 am and normally lasts an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes. We follow a traditional liturgy beginning with a call to worship, prayer, praise, confession of sins, tithes and offerings, scripture reading, and God’s speaking to us through the preaching of His word. We use the Trinity Hymnal for our music and are accompanied by a piano. We believe worship should be reverent, yet joyful.
We also gather again for evening worship at 5:00pm. This service is started with a hymn sing, where the congregation may pick their favorite hymns. This is followed by a time of prayer for the needs of the congregation and God’s word to His people. (Currently our evening services have been postponed)
On the second Sunday of each month we have a wonderful fellowship meal after the morning services and evening worship is cancelled for that day.
What about my kids?
We are a congregation that believes in family worship. You might hear a child make some noise, but we believe it is important to teach our children how to worship our heavenly father. There is a nursery for children younger than 4, or those not used to being in worship.
